HANIN ELIAS BIOGRAPHY

Inteview with TweakerRay, producer/songwriter of "Future Noir"


Hanin Elias, born 31.05.1972 in Wittlich/Germany.
Daughter of a syrian doctor and a german housewife.
Grown up in Syria, she moved back to Germany at the age of five.
Hanin ran away from home at 15 and started playing music in Punk bands and was homeless and lived in squads.
At the age of 16 she met Captain Space Sex and formed a Band named Aluminia.
Aged 18 she met Alec Empire and they decided to work together.
They formed Atari Teenage Riot and asked Carl Crack to join them as an MC.
They where signed on German Phonogram but didn't want to be a part of the mainstream and its rules. They did everything to be kicked out of the contract but still keeping the unrecoupable advance money. They succeeded.

With this advance money Alec founded Digital Hardcore Recordings.
Hanin did her first Solo Ep for Force Inc. called Parfum EP at the age of 20.
With ATR they performed world-wide and criticized the racist attacks and the fascist structures and the politics of Germany and the globalized western world.
Their lyrics and sound were unique.
They where signed by the Beastie Boys on Grand Royal

ATR toured the States, Australia, Brazil, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Europe, Iceland etc. They were on tour with Ministry, Rage against the Machine, Wutang Clang, The Roots, Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, the Prodigy, Cheap on Drugs, the Cardigans, Beck and more.

Hanin released her 2nd EP called "Show" on DHR.
At 24 Hanin became pregnant and had her son Victor Venus.
Alec took Nic Endo to play Live Noise in the band.
Hanin got involved into feminist ideas and launched DHR-Fatal (a sub-label intended to be a platform for women.)
Nic Endo put out her first Solo-Album "White Heat" on DHR-Fatal.
Hanin released her first Solo Album "In Flames" on DHR-Fatal.
Lolita Storm released their Album "GFSU" on DHR-Fatal.
Hanin Elias kept on touring and worked on ATR-Albums.
Hanin got her babydaughter Lilie-Louise in 2000.
Carl Crack died 2001 in September by committing suicide.

Hanin left ATR and DHR and re-launched DHR-Fatal in June 2002 as her own independent label Fatal-Recordings.

The first release on Fatal-Recordings in spring 2003 was a collaboration album called "No Games No Fun" on which she worked together with J Mascis, Khan, A. Hacke (Einstürzende Neubauten), Alec Empire, Merzbow and Mario Mentrup, P. VIRUS and C.h.i.f.f.r.e.

Fatal released Tara DeLong's Album "You do the Math" in November 2003.

During 2003 Hanin Elias was on tour with C.h.i.f.f.r.e and Philipp Virus to promote the "No Games No Fun" album. At the same time she was working on her next Solo Album with Producer/Composer TweakerRay. Special guests were Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) and drummer Bertil Mark (Son Goku, Thomas D.).

When Hanin was touring Switzerland she discovered a Band called Kunst from Lausanne and signed them to be the next Release on Fatal-Recordings.
In April 2004 Kunst: "Too will" be released.
